Bruised

As many of you all know, I have gained new markings on my left arm due to paint ball last weekend. It is day four of the healing process. Have been taking pictures of the bruises everyday. Will post it up when they completely heal.

People tell me that it'll take two months at least. It'll leave a mark somehow. It will take ages for it to disappear. Well, I think it's been healing quite fast.

Here goes the story.

We drove up north past Waiwera on sunny Saturday afternoon after a quick lunch. Got to the paintball place an hour later. Got ready and geared up, (not quite). I didn't get the camouflage overalls. I didn't think I needed them anyway. And I don't, because I think I'll still be bruised even with those overalls after seeing the bruises other people received.

Played for a bit, we were in the attacking team. I was concentrating on shooting an opponent, when someone shot me directly on my left side, twice in a row. So I had two straight shots on my left arm. At that point, I was dazed for a bit because it hurts. I was on a slope, yelled out that I got shot, and got up to go back to the base. But I lost my balance and slipped and fell, injuring myself even more with scratches all over my left arm. I landed on my bum and another huge bruise there.

Got back to the base to realise one of the bruises was bleeding. Had to clean it up, but it just kept bleeding. The game was still early, so in order to get my money's worth, I wrapped up my bleeding bruise and went out again. This time I was just afraid. The bruises started to sting real bad, whole time just trying not to think about it.

When the game finally ended, everyone had their own different war stories to tell. I've already told mine. It's only an experience to come to paintball. I'll probably not going to go for it again. Not because of the bruises, but because I really don't like the idea of shooting people, and trying to gain possesion.

I'm actually quite proud of my bruises. It hurts, but it does remind me the feeling of pain, and shall not take things for granted. At least these bruises will heal.

(I'd actually prefer the bleeding bruise than the other one because it's just the skin that is peeled off. I think the bullet hit my arm and pulled my skin along with it, hence the blood. But it is healing now and it actually does not hurt as much as the other bruise. The other bruise is just plain blue-black-red-purple bruise.)

Oh well, another lesson learned. Let the healing process to continue. I hope everyone else is feeling better too.

Have a good night's rest.
