Fishies

It's all done.
The syrup is ready, managed to get some alkaline water (thanks) and I finally baked something this time around.

Three weeks ago, four slices of lemon, 1 kg of sugar, 750ml of water.

After one an a half hour of boiling,

Three weeks later, preparing the fishy mould,
Preparing the dough, after 2 hours of letting the dough sit,
Placing the fishies carefully onto the baking tray,
Aren't they cute?
After 15minutes of baking,
Cooled and glazed with egg yolk, and baked again for another 10 minutes,
Yummy Mooncake Biscuits~~
aka 猪仔饼, hope I typed it correctly. Haha

I don't have a proper brush for the glazing, that's why they look patchy, but yea, didn't know it'll expand to become puffer fish after baking. =\

But they still taste great and yummy. So proud of myself, hehe for the first time making this. See if I could be bothered making a real mooncake next year.

This is what's left, the syrup can be kept years, but I might be doing some more this week for my brother. Only 5 fishies left now. That's how quickly we ate them all. Hehe, Maybe if I make more this week, anyone want to try? =D
